All departmental Twitter accounts are  maintained by staff from the Australian Government Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry
Content on our sites  will generally relate to publications, web content or media releases. All accounts may  be used to release information  about special research,  public statements or departmental events.

If you follow us on Twitter we may follow you back. We may also follow other Twitter users who we think are relevant or interested in our work. This approach has been taken to reduce spam and discourage the use of direct messaging. Availability

We will update and monitor our Twitter accounts during work hours, 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday (local time in Canberra, ACT, Australia and excluding public holidays).

The department  greatly appreciates receiving feedback and suggestions via Twitter and will maintain consistent monitoring of all accounts.  However, we may not respond directly to individual messages. The department  may choose to respond if there is an on-going theme identified by relevant discussion groups.
